New! Patented Design Promises To Save Money, Storage Space

The U.S. patent office awarded patent no.6520459 to S&W Manufacturing of Bensenville, IL for a new design that enables a rubber anti-skid pad to snap into place on the base of a leveling mount. The SnapLock™ technology will prevent a pad from disengaging from its metal counterpart, even if attached to machinery that is dragged across the floor.

"Rubber has a tendency to sweat in humid and hot temperatures which compromises the adhesives used to attach traditional pads to the underside of a metal base," said William J. Burr, president and CEO of S&W Manufacturing.

"The SnapLock™ pad actually wraps around the base, preventing slippage and down time on heavy vibrating machinery," said Burr.

S&W Manufacturing has been working for nearly a half-decade to perfect the technology, including developing new adhesives that work better with the chemical components of non-skid rubber material.

The SnapLock™ elastomer pad is applied to more than a dozen varieties of S&W's Level It™ machine leveling mounts, a company best seller. The patent was awarded February 18, 2003.
