Business of the Year for 2006

S&W Manufacturing Company Inc. was pleased to be recognized by the Bensenville Chamber of Commerce & Industry on November 29, 2006 as Business of the Year for 2006. William J. Burr, president of S&W Manufacturing Company, Inc., accepted the prestigious award at a dinner and banquet to honor Chamber members.

S&W Manufacturing has been a Bensenville business for the past thirty years and employs 48 full time and 10 temps on a 24-hour shift cycle. The company manufacturers a variety of stock leveling mounts, vibration control devices, spring plungers, and other products for a variety of industries including aeronautical, medical, gaming, consumer hard goods manufacturers, and packaging for food, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products. Additionally, S&W Manufacturing has turned the art of custom product manufacturing into a science with quick turn-around and overnight shipping to anywhere in the world.

S&W Manufacturing recently expanded its operation by purchasing and extensively rehabbing a third building on Evergreen street in Bensenville, bringing its total square footage to more than 30,000. “We’ve made an sizeable investment in the Bensenville manufacturing community with the remodeling, and updating of the building at 216 S. Evergreen, our new corporate headquarters,” said Burr, “We are pleased that our efforts have been recognized by the Bensenville business community.”

Another factor in the decision to recognize S&W as Business of the Year, was the company’s practice of giving back to the community. This past year, Burr has been praised for community outreach efforts by offering training and education to the youth of the community and providing jobs for people displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
